Job Description
Make a significant impact supporting elementary-aged students as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist this fall. This engaging role will give you the opportunity to work within a school-based setting near Schenectady, NY, where you’ll collaborate with educators and families to foster student growth and communication success. The assignment runs from September 8 to December 23, offering a fulfilling short-term commitment with 35 hours per week.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
- Current or eligible for NY state SLP licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Previous experience working with elementary school-aged children strongly preferred
- Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting plans as needed
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to support student needs
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, maintaining accurate records
- Promote language and communication proficiency that supports students’ educational success
