Operating Room Technician - Pike Road, AL

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An exciting opportunity awaits experienced surgical professionals with expertise in operating room technology. This contract role offers 12-hour night shifts (6:30p–7a) every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You’ll play a critical role in a busy surgical department within a modern facility renowned as a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of surgical technology or ORT experience required
• Experience required in trauma (excluding burns), neuro, general surgery, vascular, ENT, plastics, breasts, eyes, GYN, urology, and robotic-assisted procedures (Mazor/DaVinci XI preferred)
• Ortho spine and joint experience valuable, though ortho joint responsibility is not required
• Strong robotics experience highly preferred
• Valid surgical tech certification preferred but not mandatory
• Candidates must be unable to accept the position with just one year of experience
• Open to first-time travelers if they meet the experience threshold
• Must be competent in fast-paced surgical environments and able to respond flexibly to on-call needs

Schedule & Shift Details:

• 12-hour night shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (36 hours/week)
• Start at 6:30 p.m. each scheduled night
• On-call expected: one weekday per week (3p–7a) and one weekend per month (Friday 3p–Monday 7a)
• Holiday coverage per contract

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert support in a 1:1 patient ratio surgical setting
• Collaborate on trauma, neuro, general, and vascular cases; assist with a diverse array of procedures
• Document accurately using Cerner EMR
• Integrate with a supportive team including ORA, desk assistants, FAs, charge nurses, and service line leaders
• Engage in a comprehensive two-week day shift orientation, including buddy call responsibility

$1,462 - $1,591/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
