Job Description
LHH is seeking a detail-oriented HR-Payroll Specialist to join a growing organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while also juggling tasks for the Human Resources team. The ideal candidate also has some recruiting and onboarding experience and has a customer service mindset when assisting employees. Paylocity experience is required and construction industry experience is preferred. The role is Contract-to-Hire and paying within the range of $55,000-$62,000.

Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Accurately calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and reimbursements.
- Assist in maintaining employee records and ensuring data accuracy within the Paylocity System and employee personnel file records.
- Collaborate with HR team members in areas such as onboarding, benefits administration and recruitment efforts.
- Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees that are relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Review and reconcile timekeeping records, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Partner with the company's third-party payroll provider to ensure payroll tax filings, payments, and year-end reporting are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with applicable payroll laws and regulations.
- Generate payroll reports for management and accounting.
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, benefits, and reimbursements.
- Assist employees with payroll system usage and resolve payroll-related issues.
- Maintain employee payroll data and support payroll system updates and enhancements.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Paylocity experience is required
- Construction experience preferred
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
- 1+ year of Human Resources experience is highly requested
- Strong understanding of payroll practices, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles.
- Experience working with third-party payroll providers.
- Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
