Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a Pharmacist specializing in Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy settings. This role involves ensuring safe and effective medication distribution while providing patient-focused pharmaceutical care. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with day shifts from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm, with the possibility of working 1 to 2 nights per week. The initial assignment duration is 12 weeks, with potential to transition to a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
- Ensure all medication supplies and prescriptions comply with legal regulations and meet patient needs.
- Maintain confidential, accurate patient and pharmacy records.
- Advise patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
- Provide patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on proper use of medical devices such as glucose monitors and blood pressure cuffs.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following strict protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve drug-related patient issues.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with active Rhode Island pharmacy license.
- Experience in pharmacy operations, preferably with exposure to Long Term Care settings.
- Previous experience in mail order pharmacy services is a plus.
