This direct hire opportunity offers dedicated pharmacists the chance to make a significant impact in a 359-bed trauma level 1 medical center, one of the largest pediatric providers in the United States.

Location: Jacksonville, Arkansas
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities:
  • Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately, following physicians’ instructions.
  • Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient histories, and proper medication use.
  • Respond to patient inquiries related to medications and dosing.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and hospital procedures by recording all pharmacy-related data.
  • Verify medication doses appropriateness based on pediatric parameters such as age, weight, and diagnosis.
  • Identify and proactively manage drug therapy problems including allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions.
  • Evaluate and suggest cost-effective therapeutic alternatives when applicable.
  • Ensure that all medications meet quality and labeling standards.
  • Manage medication orders efficiently and prioritize workflow.
  • Serve in clinical patient care areas, promoting optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Participate actively in educating patients, staff, and students, including involvement in discharge planning.
  • Perform drug information and utilization review, ensuring compliance with therapeutic guidelines.
  • Manage medication orders from wholesalers and manufacturers, including substitutions and inventory coordination.
Qualifications:
  • Licensed pharmacist in Arkansas required.
  • Minimum 2 years inpatient experience preferred; new graduates welcome.
  • IV Experience or IV Certification preferred.
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric pharmacy practice.
