About the Role
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Structural Engineer with 3-5+ years of experience to join their growing Los Angeles team. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated engineer looking to take the next step in their career while working alongside experienced industry leaders on complex and impactful projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience with wood-framed construction and exposure to larger multifamily, mixed-use, podium, or high-density residential developments. Candidates must be comfortable working in a collaborative, office-based environment and contributing to projects from design through construction.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for residential, mixed-use, commercial, and institutional projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, structural reports, and construction documents.
- Develop designs in accordance with applicable building codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, developers, and project consultants throughout all phases of design and construction.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and other project documentation.
- Participate in site visits, field reviews, and structural observations.
- Support project delivery by managing priorities, schedules, and client expectations.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers and project teams on technically challenging projects.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of structural engineering experience required
- EIT certification required
- PE license preferred
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline preferred
- Experience designing wood-framed structures is required
- Experience working on large residential, multifamily, mixed-use, or podium projects is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of seismic design principles and structural dynamics
- Knowledge of California Building Code and relevant industry design standards
- Experience with structural systems including wood, concrete, steel, and masonry
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively within a team environment
