Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Panel Builder / Electrical Controls Technician to join a growing team in Chattanooga. This role combines hands-on electrical assembly with project support responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable building and wiring industrial control panels while also assisting with project planning, estimating, scheduling, and customer communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire industrial control panels according to engineering drawings, schematics, and customer specifications.
• Interpret electrical diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring documentation.
• Perform component installation, point-to-point wiring, labeling, and final terminations.
• Assist with developing labor and material estimates for customer projects.
• Track project milestones and help coordinate schedules to ensure timely completion.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders regarding project requirements, revisions, and delivery expectations.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including bills of materials, revisions, and wiring records.
• Support panel testing, troubleshooting, quality inspections, and shipment preparation.
• Participate in customer site visits when needed to evaluate project requirements or assist with equipment startup and commissioning.

QualificationsRequired

• Minimum of 3 years of experience building industrial control panels or related electrical assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Working knowledge of UL508A panel construction standards.
• Experience preparing quotes or estimating fabrication projects.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with CAD software and related design tools.
• Experience with pneumatic control systems, tubing assemblies, and soldering techniques.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.

Preferred

• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC systems.
• Background in industrial automation, controls, or systems integration.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, project tracking software, or estimating platforms.
• Previous commissioning or field service experience.

Work Location: On-site in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Pay Details: $28.00 to $35.00 per hour
