Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students across multiple educational sites with your expertise in school-based occupational therapy. This part-time contract opportunity offers a dynamic, split assignment serving three locations (K-12) in the Akron area. Flexibility is key, as the need for services and assessments will vary over the school year, with an emphasis on elementary student evaluations.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Ohio
- Prior experience in school settings (K-12) is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of assessment tools and IEP documentation for school-aged populations
- Strong collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teams
- Experience or comfort supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs)
- Excellent organizational skills to manage services across multiple schools
What You'll Do:
- Deliver occupational therapy services and interventions as outlined in student IEPs
- Conduct and interpret comprehensive evaluations, primarily at the elementary level
- Supervise and support the work of on-site COTAs
- Communicate proactively with teachers, administrators, and families
- Adapt to fluctuating caseloads and assessment demands throughout the school year
- Travel between three assigned sites as scheduled
