Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, DD, and final construction cost estimates.

  • Support preconstruction efforts for Design-Build, Construction Management, and Lump Sum projects.

  • Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for all construction trades.

  • Prepare scopes of work for subcontractors.

  • Solicit, analyze, level, and compare subcontractor bids.

  • Review drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.

  • Perform risk analysis and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Coordinate estimating activities with operations and project management teams.

  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, client meetings, and interviews.

  • Develop value engineering alternatives and pricing options.

  • Maintain subcontractor and client relationships.

  • Manage estimating documentation and project files.

  • Mentor and review work completed by junior estimators.

  • Assist with project handoff to construction operations.

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 3+ years of construction estimating experience.

  • Experience estimating commercial construction projects.

  • Proficiency with Excel, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Assemble, and BuildingConnected.

  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.

  • Experience preparing estimates for all construction trades.

  • Knowledge of subcontractor bidding and bid leveling.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • CPE or MRICS certification preferred.
