Sensory Manager

Our client, a leading food and beverage manufacturer is seeking a Sensory Manager to lead and evolve its sensory evaluation program. This role will be based out of Knoxville, TN. This individual will oversee sensory strategy, panel management, and data-driven insights to support product quality and innovation initiatives across the organization. This role partners cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, Marketing, and Operations to translate sensory data into actionable business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a sensory team including coaching and performance management
• Manage sensory programs, facilities, budgets, and external vendors
• Establish and maintain sensory standards (visual, physical, and descriptive) and methodologies
• Oversee sensory panels and support multi-site sensory initiatives
• Partner cross-functionally to support quality and innovation efforts
• Support new product development through sensory & consumer insights
• Analyze and interpret sensory data to guide business decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science or related field
• 5+ years of sensory or consumer science experience in food & beverage manufacturing
• Experience in statistical analysis and experimental design
• Strong understanding of consumer insights and sensory methodologies
• Proven cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills across Quality, Innovation, and Supply Chain
