Special Education Teacher - Aurora, Illinois

Step into a dynamic and rewarding contract position supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher. This opportunity focuses on providing expert instruction and individualized guidance to learners as you collaborate within an inclusive educational setting.

As the designated LBS1 professional for the upcoming school year, you’ll co-teach four sections of English Language Arts—two sections with 7th graders and two with 8th graders. You’ll also serve as the case manager for approximately 15 students, ensuring that they each receive the necessary support and advocacy for their unique needs.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) credential or eligibility
• Prior experience with middle school students or within a similar setting is strongly preferred
• Strong commitment to co-teaching models, differentiated instruction, and inclusive practices
• Excellent organizational and case management abilities to oversee student IEPs and collaborate with families
• Proficiency in communication, teamwork, and fostering positive classroom environments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Co-teach ELA classes alongside general education colleagues for both 7th and 8th grade
• Plan, adapt, and deliver individualized instruction for students with diverse needs
• Case manage about 15 students, including writing and implementing IEPs
• Maintain regular communication with families, service providers, and the educational team
• Monitor progress and adjust strategies to maximize student success
