Job Description
Step into a rewarding role supporting 6th grade students during the 2026-27 school year in a contract Special Education teaching position. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, working with a manageable caseload of 12-14 students. This position focuses on creating an inclusive, positive learning environment while delivering personalized educational experiences tailored to each student's needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Special Education teaching certification (appropriate for 6th grade level)
- Experience designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Proven ability to deliver targeted interventions and specially designed instruction
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with fellow staff, families, and external support providers
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Dedication to fostering an environment where all students are valued and supported
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver interventions and differentiated instruction to meet students’ unique learning needs
- Develop, review, and update IEPs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
- Facilitate regular and effective communication with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary staff
- Schedule and conduct IEP meetings, accurately documenting progress and maintaining records
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support student integration in classroom activities
- Adapt teaching approaches based on student performance data and feedback
- Contribute to a culture of inclusivity and shared learning within the school community
