Special Education Teacher | Anderson, Indiana

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Life Skills instruction at the high school level. Key Qualifications:

• Valid and active Indiana teaching license in Special Education (present verification at application)
• Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs, particularly in Life Skills education
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to foster an engaging, supportive classroom
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
• Dedication to fostering student independence and promoting positive outcomes

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction in Life Skills to high school learners, focused on essential academic and functional skills
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with families and school teams
• Track student progress and adjust teaching plans as necessary to maximize growth
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education staff
• Create a positive, safe, and accessible classroom environment for all students
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district policies regarding special education

This is a full-time, onsite role at a high school campus, with a schedule of 7:20 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday (35 hours/week) from August 3, 2026, through June 7, 2027.
