School Occupational Therapist - Newbury Park, California
Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of young learners as a contract SLP working with preschool-aged students. This full-time opportunity, with a start date as soon as possible through June 17, 2026, will have you supporting multiple school sites and collaborating with a dedicated team, including another SLP and onsite occupational therapy professionals. You’ll get to work with a caseload of up to 50 children, ages 3-5, and play a key role in shaping their foundational communication skills in a positive, early learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings highly valued
- Strong clinical skills working with preschoolers (ages 3-5)
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration abilities
- Comfortable balancing a caseload across more than one location
- Willingness to work onsite across multiple school facilities
- Ready to interview via Google Meet as soon as next week
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to preschool students
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, another SLP, and onsite OTs to support students’ goals
- Consult with families and staff on student progress and at-home strategies
- Maintain accurate records and progress documentation
- Participate in school-based meetings and contribute to a positive, supportive team environment
