School Occupational Therapist | Arlington Heights, Illinois

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with students in grades 3-5 for the upcoming school year! This position offers the chance to make a significant impact on young learners in an intermediate school environment, focusing primarily on fine motor and sensory support.

The assignment runs from September 8, 2026, through June 16, 2027, with flexible scheduling: choose between two full days or spread your hours across more days with shorter shifts. Your hours on-site will be from 8:05 AM to 2:45 PM. The caseload consists of approximately 25 students, mainly consultative, with some direct service components.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapy license for Illinois
• Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric therapy setting, especially working with elementary-age children
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for consultation with educators and families
• Solid knowledge of fine motor and sensory needs in school-aged populations
• Ability to document and provide effective interventions within an IEP framework

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver consultative OT services, developing strategies for teachers to support student participation
• Provide targeted direct therapy sessions as needed, focused on fine motor and sensory skills
• Participate in the IEP process: assessments, documentation, and meetings as required
• Collaborate with special education staff and classroom teachers to optimize student outcomes
• Maintain detailed records of interventions and student progress
