Step into an exciting contract opportunity supporting students from kindergarten through transition age within a vibrant school-based setting. This assignment, running from early September through mid-June, involves a crucial role in shaping the Occupational Therapy (OT) program and contributing to the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Located near Marysville, WA, you’ll play a pivotal part in fostering students’ growth and participation across educational environments.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

  • Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certificate as an Occupational Therapist, or eligible for certification.
  • Demonstrated understanding of implicit bias, culturally responsive teaching, and anti-racist practices.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and tiered social, emotional, and behavioral supports.
  • Solid grounding in child development, learning styles, and effective, inclusive instructional methods.
  • Commitment to racial equity work and the principles of culturally responsive education.
  • Thorough knowledge of confidentiality protocols, mandated reporting, family law, and relevant state and federal special education regulations.
  • Training or a strong willingness to obtain training in restraint/aversive interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based OT services to a diverse caseload spanning K-Transition.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to craft, implement, and refine OT programs and IEP goals.
  • Proactively support students’ engagement, independence, and access throughout the school day.
  • Engage in ongoing professional growth tied to best practices and current policies in special education.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in alignment with district, state, and federal requirements.
