Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Hold a valid Special Education teaching license or be eligible for certification in Tennessee.
- Experience with K-3 students preferred, particularly in self-contained or inclusive classroom environments.
- Solid understanding of IEP planning, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Approach teaching with patience, creativity, and a student-centered mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction tailored to students’ unique learning needs.
- Develop and implement IEP goals in partnership with parents and support staff.
- Foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment focused on building positive relationships and encouraging academic and personal growth.
- Track student progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
- Communicate regularly with families, related service providers, and district personnel to ensure cohesive support for students.
- Participate in professional development and school meetings as required.
