Step into a rewarding contract role supporting young learners in grades K-4 as a Special Education Teacher. You'll work closely with a group of 10 students integrated within the general education setting, utilizing both push-in and pull-out instructional models to ensure every child receives the individualized attention and support they need to thrive.

Your expertise will help create a nurturing and effective learning environment for students with diverse needs. The ideal candidate brings strong collaboration skills and a desire to foster inclusion. Experience with Orton-Gillingham training is highly preferred, as literacy support will be a significant part of this position.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state requirements must be met)
  • Experience working in elementary school settings, ideally K-4
  • Familiarity with push-in and pull-out service delivery models
  • Orton-Gillingham training highly desired for specialized literacy instruction
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to supporting students and working with staff
  • Commitment to individualized education and differentiated instruction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct special education services to students in grades K-4, both within the classroom and in small group settings
  • Collaborate regularly with general education teachers to modify curriculum and integrate IEP goals
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs
  • Employ Orton-Gillingham strategies when delivering literacy services (if applicable)
  • Monitor student progress and maintain thorough documentation
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment
