Patient Service Coordinator
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator responsible for managing patient scheduling and coordination, providing financial and administrative support, and maintaining patient relations. The primary goal is to ensure efficient appointment management and support the administrative functions of the medical office.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments according to provider guidelines.
- Maintain the primary office scheduling book, including provider meetings and satellite schedules.
- Handle incoming referrals, assign account numbers, and secure necessary authorizations.
- Schedule outpatient appointments and hospital admissions as requested.
- Obtain required pre-certifications and document all referral authorizations.
- Collect co-pays and other out-of-pocket amounts during visits.
- Identify patients requiring financial assistance and arrange for counseling services.
- Manage high-volume scheduling calls and provide appointment details to patients.
- Document no-shows, follow up to reschedule missed visits, and maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1+ year of Medical Office Experience
Skills
- Strong communication skills for handling high-volume incoming calls.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to front-office policies.
- Ability to cross-train for other administrative duties.
Additional Requirements
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
