Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist. This contract, part-time, on-site opportunity is available immediately and focuses on providing specialized instruction and assistance to students with hearing impairments. You'll work collaboratively with educational teams to ensure these students have full access to learning in an inclusive environment.

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Certification and/or credentialing as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience supporting students with a range of hearing impairments in school settings
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with assistive listening devices
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with teachers, families, and specialists
  • Ability to assess student needs and adapt instructional strategies accordingly
  • Passion for advocating for student accommodations and equitable access

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative instructional services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Adapt curriculum materials to meet individual learning needs
  • Provide training and consultation to classroom teachers regarding best practices and technology use
  • Support IEP development and implementation, including progress monitoring and documentation
  • Facilitate communication and integration within the school environment
  • Collaborate with families and related service providers to support student success
