Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - San Bernardino, CA

What we're seeking:

• Valid teaching credentials with a specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
• Previous classroom experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Strong understanding of a range of communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL)
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for engaging with students, families, and school teams
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), modify curriculum, and adapt learning materials
• Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Design and deliver tailored instruction to meet the unique needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
• Assess student progress, track data, and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Partner with general education and special education teachers, speech/language pathologists, and other staff
• Maintain open, proactive communication with families to support student growth
• Advocate for student access, accommodations, and full participation in all school activities
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals
• Create an engaging classroom environment that fosters self-advocacy, independence, and academic achievement
