Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialty retail pharmacy focused on HIV/AIDS care in North Fort Myers, FL is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to cover a 16-week maternity leave. This role begins with a 2-week training period alongside the current Pharmacist-in-Charge at the Orlando location, followed by full responsibility managing pharmacy operations solo.
This position requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and support while effectively managing daily prescription volume of 20-30. Candidates must have proven experience dispensing HIV/AIDS medications, as well as retail pharmacy experience of at least one year. Your ability to communicate clearly with patients and healthcare providers, maintain punctuality, and demonstrate a positive attitude is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense and verify prescriptions in adherence to all regulations and guidelines
- Manage pharmacy workflow independently in a single pharmacist setting without pharmacy technicians
- Provide counseling and support to patients, ensuring understanding of medication regimens
- Maintain strong communication with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in ongoing training and adapt to evolving pharmacy procedures
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Florida Pharmacist license required
- Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience
- Experience with HIV/AIDS medication dispensing must be clearly noted on the resume
- Familiarity with QS1 pharmacy software is highly preferred
- Ability and willingness to work without pharmacy technician support
- No request for time off allowed during the assignment
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
