Job Description
Role Type: Remote Contract Opportunity for Open Enrollment
Pay Rate: $25.oo / hour (Fully paid training and commission)
Start Date: Early / Mid September
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 hours/week | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CT (Must be flexible for extended hours, weekends, and peak holiday shifts in December/January)
Location: 100% Remote (U.S.-Based Only - Must currently reside in one of the eligible hiring states listed below)
Role Summary
As a Licensed Health Insurance Agent, you will take an inbound-first, consultative approach to guide members and providers through their health insurance options. You will deliver empathetic, clear, and high-touch support, helping individuals choose the best plan for their needs and navigating their benefits with confidence. This is not a sales role.
Key Responsibilities
Consultative Sales & Support: Handle high-volume inbound sales calls (30-40 daily) to educate, advise, and enroll prospective clients in HealthPartners Medicare and Individual health plans by clearly explaining coverage options, benefits, and costs.
Outbound Follow-ups: Conduct targeted outreach and follow-ups with prospective and current clients to assist with enrollment documentation, application completions, and policy inquiries.
Problem Solving & Needs Assessment: Ask strategic questions to evaluate client needs, guide informed plan selection, and navigate complex coverage inquiries using internal knowledge systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, underwriting support, and regulatory stakeholders to resolve client inquiries and deliver a seamless onboarding experience.
Accurate Documentation & Compliance: Log all client interactions, plan selections, and sales activities accurately within the CRM system while strictly adhering to CMS regulations and insurance compliance guidelines.
Sales & Service Excellence: Consistently meet or exceed established sales targets and performance metrics while bringing education, advocacy, and clarity to every client interaction.
State & Licensing Requirements
Candidates MUST hold an active Health Insurance License in their state of residence.
Priority Hiring States:
Candidates residing in and licensed in the following states are eligible to apply (Dual or multi-state licensing is highly preferred):

Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Active Resident Health Insurance License in an eligible state.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an empathetic, consultative tone.
High attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
Comfortable navigating multiple web-based software systems simultaneously (e.g., Five9, CRM, Excel).
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while adhering strictly to a structured schedule.
High reliability and strict compliance with CMS and carrier guidelines.
Preferred:
Background in customer service, call centers, or healthcare/health insurance (Medicare experience is not required).
Experience in a highly structured or regulated industry.
Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Excel).
Remote Requirements
To comply with HIPAA guidelines and operational standards, you must have:
Private Workspace: A dedicated, quiet room with a closeable door to ensure member privacy.
Personal Computer: You must provide your own primary computer meeting performance standards.
High-Speed Internet: Reliable internet connection (a Speed Test screenshot will be required during the application process).
Smartphone: Required for multi-factor authentication (MFA) and secure login procedures.
Schedule & Training Expectations
Start Date: Early to Mid September
Paid Training Period: (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 4:30/5 PM CT). 100% attendance during training is mandatory.
Standard Work Hours: Flexibility required from 8 Am - 8 Pm
Peak Season Flexibility (Dec-Jan): Candidates must be available for expanded shifts, overtime, and potential weekend/holiday shifts (e.g., Black Friday, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) based on operational need.
