Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Valley Center, CA supporting residential housing and government facilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys variety, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can support repairs, installations, preventative maintenance, and facility improvement projects.
This position offers stable daytime hours, a collaborative team environment, and the opportunity to contribute to safe, functional, and well-maintained housing and public sector facilities. The right candidate will work with supportive leadership, interact professionally with residents and staff, and play an important role in keeping facilities operating smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general, preventative, and corrective maintenance on residential units and government facilities.
- Complete repairs involving drywall, painting, carpentry, framing, plumbing, electrical, flooring, roofing, fencing, doors, and concrete.
- Install and replace fixtures, appliances, lighting, water heaters, toilets, faucets, cabinets, countertops, smoke detectors, and flooring.
- Prepare work areas through taping, caulking, sanding, priming, cleaning, demolition, debris removal, and site cleanup.
- Complete work orders, prepare material estimates, maintain parts inventory, and support facility setups for meetings and events.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other equipment while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $23.00 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Direct hire.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday.
- Standard Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Summer Hours: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Occasional overtime, weekends, or standby assignments may be required.
