Special Education Teacher in Lexington, IN

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position spanning the 2024-2025 academic year. Two opportunities are available: one Preschool/LD Teacher and one Teacher for a mild/moderate classroom. This full-time role supports students in developing essential skills in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification, with preference for experience in preschool or mild/moderate settings
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, specialists, and families
• Experience managing average caseloads is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work full-time on site, supporting students from August 2024 through May 2027
• Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Build strong relationships with families to support student learning and progress
• Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies as necessary
• Maintain accurate records and documentation according to school and state guidelines
