Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Ashland, OH

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacy is seeking a qualified pharmacist to provide PRN coverage during upcoming vacation periods. The role requires a professional pharmacist with hands-on experience in retail pharmacy to ensure smooth pharmacy operations while full-time staff are away.

Responsibilities include answering phones, entering and verifying data, product verification, and checking in and signing for controlled and narcotic drug deliveries. This position utilizes PioneerRx software to manage a high volume of prescriptions—over 200 prescriptions are processed daily. The pharmacy operates Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, but the pharmacist’s hours will be from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with no lunch closure.

Vacation coverage dates needed:

• August 10 to August 14
• September 14 to September 18
• November 25

The pharmacist will work alongside three full-time pharmacy technicians and will not be responsible for immunizations in this role.

Qualifications:

• Active, clear Ohio pharmacist license
• Minimum of 1 year recent retail pharmacy experience
• Proficiency with PioneerRx software preferred or ability to quickly learn pharmacy management systems
• Strong attention to detail for data entry and prescription verification
• Excellent communication skills for phone interactions and team coordination

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• Per diem hours covering specific vacation periods
