Role: Design Engineer (Audio-Visual)
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Commercial Audio-Visual Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and execution of large-scale AV systems for hospitality and commercial environments. This role requires deep technical expertise, proven leadership on complex projects, and the ability to collaborate with architects, designers, contractors, and clients from concept through commissioning.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of hands-on experience in commercial AV, with a strong background in hospitality design-build projects, systems integration, and field implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Lead end-to-end design and engineering of large-scale commercial AV systems
Produce detailed system designs, schematics, and specifications
Develop AV solutions for audio, video, control, networking, lighting integration, digital signage, and conferencing
Project Leadership
Serve as technical lead on major design-build projects
Collaborate with architects, designers, IT, and construction teams
Provide technical guidance to project managers and installers
Installation & Commissioning
Oversee system installation and quality assurance
Lead testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system acceptance
Client Engagement
Act as technical point of contact for clients and stakeholders
Participate in design meetings, site walks, and presentations
Required Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial AV systems
Extensive hospitality project experience
Proven leadership on large-scale design-build projects
Strong understanding of professional audio, video, control, networking, and DSP systems
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT experience a bonus
