Title: Career Development Faculty in OB/GYN Research

Salary Range: The minimum compensation is determined by the appointment type and, if applicable, rank and/or step, as outlined in the UC Salary scales. The salary for this role ranges from $250,000 to $400,000, with annual negotiations. Additional compensation may be available for those included in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan.

Position Description

Our organization is dedicated to fostering academic excellence among faculty, staff, and students. We are looking for physician-scientists to fill Faculty Career Development roles in various specialties, including:

  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM)
  • Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI)
  • Gynecologic Oncology (Gyn Onc)
  • Complex Family Planning (CFP)
  • Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS)
  • Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS)
  • Hospitalist
  • Academic Specialist in OB/GYN

We provide an exceptional academic setting with well-funded programs in clinical, translational, and basic research, covering cellular, molecular, and systems-level studies.

The initial 2-5 years of these positions will be supported by the NICHD-sponsored Women’s Reproductive Health Research Career Development K12 Program. This program aims to offer advanced training for exceptional physicians in basic, translational, and bedside research, promoting the growth of independent physician-scientists in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Selected candidates will allocate approximately 75% of their efforts to mentored and independent research, with an expected 10-20% for clinical duties and 5-10% for teaching responsibilities.

The appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level within the Adjunct series.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (required at the time of application):

  • Candidates must possess an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be board eligible or certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Applicants must also have or be eligible for a California medical license or an equivalent certification as determined by the Medical Board of California.
