A full-time opportunity awaits as an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH), supporting students across multiple schools throughout the district. Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid OSPI Certification with a DHH endorsement
  • Proven experience working with students using cochlear implants, hearing aids, and both FM and ASL communication methods
  • Strong knowledge of strategies to support students with varying levels of hearing loss
  • Ability to travel between sites and adapt to changing classroom environments
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Previous experience in an itinerant teaching capacity preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to DHH students in varied educational settings
  • Collaborate with general and special education teachers to ensure access to curriculum and facilitate accommodations
  • Consult with school teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide training and resources to teachers and staff on DHH best practices and assistive technology
  • Advocate for accessible learning environments and foster student independence
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and service delivery
