The Production Laborer position is a full-time position that will work 12-hour shifts (a rotating day and night shift). There is a possibility of working an 8-hour swing. The Tomahawk Mill is a 24-hour operation; candidates must be able to work any assigned rotating shifts and be available on short notice of overtime.

Basic Qualifications:
\nPosition requires minimum age 18
\nHigh School Diploma or G.E.D
\nWork any assigned rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime
\nAt least two years of full or part-time work in the last four years
\nAbility to read, write and speak in English
\nMust possess a valid driver's license
\nSatisfactory completion of background check and drug screen
\n
\n Preferred Qualifications:
Pulp & Paper industry experience preferred.
\nAt least 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, equipment or process operations and equivalent skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.
\n
\n The successful candidate must possess the following Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers
\nAbility to exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills
\nCapable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem-solving, ambiguity and change
\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously
\nAbility to read and understand technical correspondence, memos, instructions, and reports
\n
Tests and Board Interview:
\nThose selected to go through the PCA hiring process will be asked to take a series of computer tests and take part in a structured board interview.
The tests are all timed and involve:
\nBasic mechanical principles
\nBasic arithmetic skills
\nThe ability to visualize three-dimensional figures
\nThe ability to compare numbers or patterns quickly and accurately
\nBasic verbal ability
The interview will be conducted by a four-person board and involves a review of each candidate’s:
\nWork history
\nAchievements and accomplishments
\nKnowledge and skill acquisition
\nInterpersonal skills and helpfulness
\nTask-related likes and dislikes
\nPhysical demands experienced on previous jobs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

- Starting wage for position: $30.72 per hour. Wage increases between $34.12-$38.42 per hour once trained on bottom job in dept. \n
- Paid Vacation: Based on the USW contractual agreement. \n

- Paid Holidays: Once you are a part of the union and based on the USW contractual agreement. \n
