Job Description
Make an impact this upcoming school year by supporting elementary students through specialized instruction as part of a dedicated special education department. Multiple contract opportunities are available, including two full-time and two part-time positions (four-hour days, five days a week), with roles beginning in mid-August to welcome students on their first day.
Your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will be the cornerstone in providing individualized instruction, fostering inclusive classrooms, and supporting students with a wide range of learning needs. Our department is particularly seeking candidates with previous experience as a Dyslexia teacher, as two positions will carry vital responsibilities as Dyslexia case managers.
Qualifications & Experience:
- EC-4, EC-6, or EC-12 Special Education Certification (required)
- Proven background working with elementary-aged students
- Prior experience teaching students with dyslexia or managing dyslexia-specific intervention plans
- Comfortable in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners and strong IEP development skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement specialized instructional plans aligned with IEPs for students in elementary grades
- Serve as case manager for students with dyslexia: plan interventions, monitor progress, and communicate with staff and families
- Collaborate closely with general and special education colleagues to promote inclusive practices
- Track student growth, complete required documentation, and participate in ARD/IEP meetings
- Provide engaging, differentiated instruction to meet the wide-ranging needs of your classroom
- Support students’ social-emotional and academic development
