Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A leading 359-bed, Level 1 trauma teaching hospital recognized as one of the largest pediatric medical centers in the US is seeking dedicated Clinical Pharmacists for full-time day shift positions. This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists eager to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment within a state-of-the-art facility focused exclusively on pediatric care.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour day shifts
  • 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately according to physicians' instructions.
  • Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and medication use.
  • Respond to medication-related inquiries from patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records with compliance to regulatory and hospital standards.
  • Verify dosage appropriateness based on pediatric patient specifics including diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area.
  • Identify and intervene in drug therapy issues such as allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions.
  • Evaluate and recommend therapy options, including cost-effective alternatives.
  • Monitor patient outcomes to ensure optimal therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Participate in patient, technician, pharmacist, and student education and training.
  • Manage medication ordering, inventory, and substitutions with timely communication to management.
  • Engage in drug information, utilization review, and quality assurance activities.

Qualifications:

  • Arkansas pharmacy license preferred; candidates in the process of obtaining a temporary license are also considered.
  • Minimum 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
  • IV experience or IV Certification is a plus.
  • Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) certification preferred.
  • New graduates encouraged to apply.
