\nJob Description
\nIn collaboration with the surgical team, and under the direction and supervision of a physician, assumes responsibility for the care and safety of the patients, instrumentation, supplies, and equipment during the surgical procedure. Additionally, assumes responsibility for ensuring effective communication with the circulator, charge nurse, the patient, the surgeon, anesthesia in other hospital departments. Responsible for integrity, safety, and efficiency of the sterile field. Assists in the care of sterile supplies and equipment. Provides aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation. Performs additional duties as directed by the Nurse Manager.
\nResponsible for compliance to hospital policy and appropriate laws and regulations, as well as those of regulatory and accrediting bodies.
\nSchedule: 40 hours per week

\nEducation: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology First Assist Program
\nLicensures/Certifications: Current CPR certification; Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Required.
