Maintenance Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Insight Global is seeking a Maintenance Tech / Handy Man to support one of our facility services clients at the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, NY. This role involves a wide range of general building maintenance tasks, including plumbing, light electrical work, drywall installation, painting, and tile replacement. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial doors (including ADA automatic doors), patching roof damage, and troubleshooting restroom fixtures such as automatic sinks and soap dispensers. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity and requires on-site presence 5 days a week (Friday to Tuesday, 2pm-10:30pm).

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1+ years of experience as a handy man or general maintenance tech – commercial environments preferred
Experience changing out light bulbs, ballasts, and checking outlets
Experience with tile and ceiling repairs, drywall/painting
Skilled in plumbing - replace automatic sinks, soap dispensers, replace toilette, flushometers, etc.
Bi-lingual in Spanish & English

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience operating a scissor lift or boom lift
Experience working in a commercial retail environment (Malls, Supermarkets, Department Stores, Factory Outlets)
