Tax Analyst

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established organization in the energy and industrial sector to identify an Tax Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional seeking broad exposure across sales & use tax, property tax, fuel tax, compliance, audit support, and tax research within a complex operating environment.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working cross-functionally with accounting, finance, and operational teams while contributing to tax compliance initiatives, process improvements, and strategic tax planning efforts. Primary responsibilities of the Tax Analyst role include:

• Prepare, review, and support indirect tax filings including sales & use tax, property tax, fuel tax, and other transaction-based taxes

• Assist with tax compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and related accounting activities

• Research tax regulations and communicate findings to internal stakeholders

• Support responses to tax notices, audits, examinations, and inquiries from taxing authorities

• Maintain tax documentation, exemption certificates, and compliance records

• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting indirect tax obligations

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations related to tax activities

• Participate in process improvement initiatives and help enhance tax controls and reporting procedures

• Partner with accounting, finance, and operations teams to address tax-related matters across the business

Primary qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field

• Hands-on experience with sales & use tax, property tax, fuel tax, or similar indirect tax functions

• Strong understanding of tax compliance, reporting, audits, and tax research

• Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems

Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year
