Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education endorsement
  • Experience supporting middle school students, particularly in English Language Arts, preferred
  • Background in both resource and co-taught classroom models
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and organization skills
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Passion for student-centered teaching and fostering positive relationships

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to 8th grade students in ELA resource/co-taught settings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to plan, adapt, and deliver engaging lessons
  • Implement and track student progress based on IEP goals
  • Use data and formative assessments to adjust instruction and interventions
  • Foster a welcoming, respectful learning atmosphere that encourages academic growth for all students
  • Maintain open, positive communication with families and team members
