Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners in a self-contained K-1 special education classroom. You’ll guide a small group of kindergarten and first-grade students with developmental delays, working alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals to provide a nurturing, structured learning environment.
As the lead educator, you will play a key role in shaping daily instruction, supporting both general and adapted curriculum needs. Your expertise will help address a range of academic and behavioral needs, encompassing Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations for each student
- Deliver differentiated, individualized instruction across multiple content areas
- Apply positive behavior supports and interventions tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with related service providers, administrators, support staff, and families
- Track student progress and ensure compliance with all reporting and documentation requirements
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and organized classroom environment
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Special Education Adapted Curriculum Certification
- Certification in all major academic content areas (Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies)
- Proven ability to write and carry out IEPs
- Experienced with behavior intervention strategies and effective classroom management
- Minimum of three professional references, including one recent supervisor (principal, AP, Coordinator)
