Desired Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience working with school-aged children with hearing loss
  • Skill in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with assistive listening devices and relevant technology
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
  • Willingness to work on-site and engage with school teams and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver tailored lessons for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Assess students’ academic and communication needs, documenting progress
  • Support classroom teachers and staff with strategies to include students fully
  • Advocate for accommodations and appropriate resources to optimize learning
  • Facilitate communication between students, families, and school personnel
  • Stay updated on best practices and current educational technology relevant to DHH instruction
