Staff Pharmacist in Mount Lemmon, AZ

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a dedicated pharmacist to provide expert pharmaceutical services at a 20-bed campus located in a suburban Tucson community. This position focuses on delivering safe, accurate, and efficient medication distribution to patients ranging from neonates to adults, within a hospital setting that adheres strictly to state, federal, and DEA regulations as well as The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

Work Schedule:

• Day shifts, Monday through Friday

Job Type:

• Contract assignment lasting approximately 13 weeks, with the possibility of transition to a temp-to-hire arrangement

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safe dispensing of pharmaceutical agents in compliance with all applicable laws and hospital policies
• Collaborate closely with physicians on medication selection, dosing, and adjustments, especially in high-acuity cases
• Provide education to nursing staff, physicians, and patients on medication management and safety
• Lead medication safety initiatives and monitor patient profiles to prevent adverse drug reactions
• Prepare IV admixtures, nutritional supplements, and maintain strict narcotic accountability

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience within a high-acuity acute care environment
• Proven expertise with NICU patients and complex cardiac cases, including Impella and ECMO support
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and hospital pharmacy operations
