LTC Mail Order Staff Pharmacist | Brookfield, Wisconsin

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers an opportunity to work as a pharmacist in a specialized environment supporting long-term care and mail order pharmacy services. The role operates primarily on the second shift, Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, with occasional Saturdays, for an eight-week contract with potential to convert to permanent.

Location: Brookfield, WI
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm (2nd shift)
• Some Saturdays

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns
• Ensure all medications supplied are compliant with legal requirements and appropriate for patient use
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient and pharmacy records
• Provide thorough consultation to patients regarding prescription and OTC medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, and drug interactions
• Educate patients on medical device handling, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurements, and cholesterol management
• Compound medications for internal and external use, including sterile solutions, following proper procedures
• Supervise and support pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
• Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to address drug-related issues and optimize patient care

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Wisconsin pharmacy license required
• Previous pharmacy experience mandatory
• Long-term care (LTC) pharmacy experience highly desirable
