Two dedicated Occupational Therapists are needed: one for a full-time position and another for part-time, both beginning in September. In these positions, you will deliver vital occupational therapy services to help students develop essential skills, enabling them to reach their fullest potential in and out of the classroom. Each assignment will take place within Ingham County, with specific school placements determined by district needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Michigan Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
- Previous experience in school-based OT or with K-12 student populations preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educational staff, parents, and other therapists
- Demonstrated ability to create customized intervention plans for students with varying needs
- Flexibility to adapt to new environments and caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of students’ motor and functional skills
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct therapy, consultative services, and resources for students and staff
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with all documentation requirements
- Engage in interdisciplinary meetings and collaborate closely with teachers and school personnel
