Job Description
Make a meaningful impact within educational settings as a licensed Occupational Therapist working across three school locations in the Akron area. This dynamic, part-time, split position offers the opportunity to work with students from kindergarten through 12th grade, tailoring your expertise to a diverse age range. As a key member of the team, you’ll guide and supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), ensuring high-quality therapy services while collaborating with other education professionals.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
- Current and valid Ohio Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
- Experience or interest in school-based practice, spanning K-12 populations
- Strong organizational skills to manage a split schedule across three sites
- Comfort with fluctuating caseloads and adaptable hours to accommodate school-year assessment peaks
- Prior supervision of COTAs preferred
- Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students, with an emphasis on elementary-level assessments and interventions
- Conduct and interpret evaluations, collaborating with educational teams to guide individualized education plan (IEP) development
- Oversee and provide supervision for COTAs, supporting their professional growth and ensuring treatment fidelity
- Maintain clear and timely documentation, tracking student progress and compliance with district and state requirements
- Travel between locations as scheduled, managing a flexible caseload and adjusting to shifting demands throughout the school year
