This contract position focuses on providing social work services to K-5th grade students in a school community near Aurora, IL. The assignment begins August 12, 2026, and runs through November 4th, 2026, with the potential to extend further. You’ll help support students’ well-being through direct intervention, collaboration, and advocacy—contributing to a caring, inclusive educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois School Social Worker (IL SSW) license and Professional Educator License (PEL) required.
- At least one year of experience working as a school social worker within elementary settings.
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills with students, faculty, and families.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and provide evidence-based interventions.
- Proficiency in developing positive behavioral support plans and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a resource for students across K-5th grade, providing crisis intervention, counseling, and group facilitation as needed.
- Foster partnerships with teachers, staff, and parents to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
- Develop, implement, and review individualized plans to assist students in achieving academic and social success.
- Assist in creating a safe and inclusive school community that responds proactively to student challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings and other relevant school-based committees.
This is a full-time, onsite role, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, engaging with a diverse student population.
