Assistant Engineer
Job Description
Our client is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to perform basic engineering and drafting tasks on a variety of projects. The selected candidate will apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria while working under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform specific assignments designed to develop engineering knowledge and skills.
Apply standard engineering practices and techniques on assigned tasks.
Exercise limited engineering judgment when evaluating work details and making preliminary selections among engineering alternatives.
Perform QA/QC reviews on assigned work, including checking and correcting errors prior to submission to the supervisor.
Work under close supervision on new or non-routine assignments, with guidance provided on appropriate techniques and procedures.
Stay current with industry developments, engineering methods, and best practices through training programs, workshops, and seminars.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
Candidates who have successfully completed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination are preferred.
This is an entry-level position. No prior professional experience is required.
Candidates must possess the skills and qualifications listed below.
Demonstrated understanding and application of mathematics, engineering principles, and engineering theory.
Proficiency with CADD software, engineering applications, and standard office software.
Basic knowledge of graphic standards, engineering drafting techniques, and plan preparation.
Understanding of QA/QC procedures and their application to engineering projects.
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a collaborative engineering environment.
