\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\n
\n
\nUnder daily supervision from the Building Automation Team Leader, Tech II is responsible for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting building unit controllers and Facility Management Systems. Provides detailed information to communicate design to customers, Haynes Mechanical field installation team and subcontractors.\n
\n
\nServes as the technical resource for Controls Technician 1. Controls Technician II will also be required to perform functions of preventive maintenance agreements and participate in our on-call rotation.\n
\n
\nREQUIREMENTS:\n
\n
\nMinimum of 5 years HVAC Controls database integrations and sub-system experience\n
\nNiagara certified with 5+ years of related experience (additional certifications helpful)\n
\nStrong working experience and knowledge of general construction industry with a focus on HVAC systems (Boilers, Chillers, RTU’s, AHU’s, and VAV’s) and building automation control\n
\nMust understand controls strategies and have the ability to configure and commission building automation controls based on design and company standards\n
\nMust understand communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, and Lon) with the ability to troubleshoot said protocols\n
\nStrong understanding of control circuitry and wiring diagrams\n
\nStrong understanding and troubleshooting inputs/outputs, networks, and communication on end devices\n
\nExperience with computer-aided design; strong PC skills required\n
\nAbility to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience\n
\nMust possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an insurable driving record\n
\n
\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n
\n
\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned:\n

\nAccountable to Team Leader and field teams for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs; participates in engineering release meeting with project field team\n
\nResponsible for total system point to point operation and commissioning\n
\nTroubleshoots system problems, works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.\n
\nControls Technician II will be required to work with multiple control devices and/or third-party devices into Niagara\n
\nPerforms static (standalone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) software programming independently with support from Team Lead\n
\nAbility to configure customer operator workstations and all required software (Such as integration device data, trends, history, alarms, and graphics)\n
\nCalibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/or a laptop computer\n
\nReviews customers’ systems and point out other areas of improvement and keeps management apprised of customer concerns and issues\n
\nComplete all required commissioning documentation and provides accurate information for as-builts documentation\n
\nPerforms site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system and assists with turnover to service\n
\nConducts self-study (reading, research, and practice) to improve technical proficiency (software/hardware) in company's product lines\n
\nCommunicates with Haynes Mechanical System’s Team Lead, Supervisors, Project Manager, and/or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site on progress\n
\nCommunicates effectively with the general or mechanical contractor, consultants, architect engineers and other sub-contractors as required\n
\nAdheres to safety standards and has a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.\n

\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:\n

\nAble to lift 75 lbs from floor to waist with possible repetition\n
\nAble to lift 50 lbs from shoulder to overhead\n
\nAble to work with both arms above head for minimum of 5 minutes\n
\nAble to carry 50 lbs for a distance of 25 feet\n
\nAble to push or pull 125 for a distance of 150 feet\n
\nAble to climb stairs and ladders\n
\nAble to carry 30 lbs while climbing stairs or a ladder\n
\nOwning and operating hand tools – such as multi-meters, basic hand tools, power tools, and label makers, specialty tools will be provided at the discretion of the company.\n
\nAble to grip and operate hand tools, powers tools and safety equipment, such as chain falls\n
\nAble to lift legs and step over obstacles up to 19 inches above the ground\n
\nAble to perform work while in varying physical positions, such as lying on side, in a kneeling position, while standing on a ladder\n
\nAble to access rooftop units and work at heights and in some cases tight or enclosed spaces\n
\nAble to wear a respirator if conditions require; may have exposure to potentially harmful chemicals or materials\n
\nAble to crawl for a distance of 25 feet\n
\nAble to stoop, squat or kneel for up to 10 minutes at a time\n
\n
\nVision: Correctable to 20/20 with no color blindness\n
\n
\nHearing: Correctable to normal range\n
\n
\nCompensation: $40-$50/hour starting pay | $50-$65/hour with 10+ years experience\n
