Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract role offers a chance to work in a dynamic healthcare environment focused on improving patient outcomes through expert medication management. The position is based in Providence, Rhode Island, and follows a weekday schedule with potential evening shifts.

Location: Providence, RI
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Primary shift options: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM or 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Possibility of working 1 to 2 nights per week
    Duration: 12 weeks, with potential to convert to permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards
  • Monitor and evaluate patient medication adherence and usage patterns
  • Ensure prescriptions are appropriate, safe, and in line with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision
  • Provide patient counseling regarding medication usage, side effects, and potential drug interactions
  • Educate patients on medical devices and manage health services such as smoking cessation and blood pressure monitoring
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications correctly following established protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff effectively
  • Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to maintain optimal stock levels
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve medication-related issues

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Licensed pharmacist in Rhode Island
  • Experience in pharmacy practice, preferably with long-term care and mail order pharmacy exposure
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and medication management standards
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills
