Bluewater Marine has immediate openings for pipe welders at the nation's largest shipyard - Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA. Job Description:

\n
• Weld carbon steel, stainless steel and copper nickel pipe using SMAW and GTAW processes in 6G and 6GR positions
\n
• Heat oxygen/propane heating torch
\n
• Properly use fillet gauges, butt gauges and six-inch scale
\n
• Must have a thorough knowledge of various metal characteristics and qualities including the correct welding processes required and the effect of welding on the material
\n
• Experience with EB rings and socket welds
\n

To be eligible for the position you must:

1. Be a US citizen
\n
2. Pass a criminal background check and hair follicle drug test
\n
3. Comfortable with heights and in confined spaces
\n
4. Have basic reading, writing and speaking English along with basic math skills
\n
