Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid occupational therapy license in Michigan (or eligibility for Michigan licensure)
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting, preferably with high school-aged students
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and familiarity with educational documentation
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Creative, compassionate, and adaptable approach to interventions

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver assessments, interventions, and recommendations tailored to high school students
  • Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, gross motor, and self-help skills necessary for academic success
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to enhance student participation and achievement
  • Assist in IEP development and progress monitoring, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Provide direct and consultative services, adapting strategies to meet individual needs
  • Maintain thorough records and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture
