Staff Accountant

LHH is seeking a Staff Accountant for a growing organization in the Phoenix area. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to contribute to a collaborative finance team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare supporting schedules and financial reports for management review.
• Analyze financial data and identify variances or unusual transactions.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Assist with audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and GAAP standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve accounting-related issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency with Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formulas.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• CPA or CPA-track candidates are highly preferred but not required

Preferred Experience

• Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience.
• Experience supporting audits.
• Exposure to budgeting and financial analysis.
• Manufacturing, healthcare, construction, distribution, or service industry accounting experience.

Pay Details: $18.00 to $26.00 per hour
