Occupational Therapist School Setting in Fremont, CA

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with elementary-aged students as a school-based Occupational Therapist. Support young learners through two consecutive maternity leaves—August through January and then January through June—making a lasting impact in a collaborative, student-focused environment. You’ll provide direct and consultative OT services for a diverse caseload in a setting that values your expertise and dedication.

Qualifications:

• Current, active Occupational Therapist licensure in California
• Strong background in school-based OT practices
• Experience working with elementary-age students preferred
• Familiarity with special education eligibilities such as Autism, Speech Language Impairment, Other Health Impairment, Visual Impairment, and Specific Learning Disability
• Comfort supporting students with a wide range of needs, from mild/moderate to moderate/severe

Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services to a caseload of approximately 32 direct-service students and 3 consult cases
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor student progress
• Collaborate with special education staff, teachers, and families to support student success
• Address both fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, daily living skills, and adaptive strategies tailored to each child’s needs
• Maintain thorough, timely documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines
